Somber Return from Alone Together Adventure

I think Haven was trying to maybe tell me (earlier today when he was at my apartment) that he was ____ about me not going to see the "teeth" (excavators) with he and Max(Max didn't invite me), (also, I'm not sure they went anywhere, and saw anything, they returned in record-breaking time, silently. Whenever they have a rare outing ":alone" together , the mood is always heavy upon return. I find suspicious, disappointing, sick-sad for Haven, and drad at knowing what could possibly have gone on, or not gone on. Usually, in my experience, parent-child 1 on 1 outings -allow for a quick bond in friendship to form, even if only temporarily, and the grown up and not grown up establish a rapport and camraderie.
