Let’s address Max’s response, at the bottom of the screenshot:
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”
I assume this is in reference to my first statement, above: “Why won’t you let me put Haven to bed...” Max lies. He did and does know what I was talking about. Max constantly plays games: this is the one where he pretends he doesn’t know anything. Very transparent, and annoying.
Further, I ask Max to stop taking Haven on drug runs and to see his drug dealer, which he either:
a) ignored in a passive-aggressive method, one he often uses to admit to something without actually admitting it - i.e., let's say I ask him if he was at tina's and he doesn't answer, but definitely heard me, that definitely means yes, he was at tina's. Or let's say you write an 8 page document that Max leaves argumentative comments on, stating those parts aren't true, and he calls you crazy and things like that in his comments. Are we safe to assume the parts of the document that Max didn't argue or comment on, are we safe to say that they are true? I would think so, wouldn't you? So in this context of a), above, Max's failure to respond to my demand could be interpreted as a passive-aggressive way of saying no I will never stop?
or
b) didn't specifically respond to this statement because his "I don't know..." answer was meant to serve as the response to this as well. More games. Fun. Max is fun. The letters that make up the word "Max" could be replaced with the letters that make up the word "Fun" and I bet no one would notice.
Next, Max states "and I didn't leave him anywhere and"
But. He had just left him in his truck again. I asked him if that's what he was doing, and he stopped and argued with me about it - defending his position in rendering Haven helpless, completely isolating him, taking away his ability to get attention - be seen or heard, and then leaving him with horrible sounds at a horrible volume. That's when I start cussing him out hardcore. I get so so so SO mad at him STILL doing this to Haven. He's been doing this to him since he was a baby. It traumatized the f**k out of him.
Strapped into the seat, yes, as always.
Engine on, of course.
Probably definitely something just awful and too loud on the radio, techno or some kind of drone-ish podcast by a cookbook author from the midwest who just doesn't know when to quit.
All the windows rolled up - the windows are triple tinted a black black blackest black. So you can't see inside of that thing.
So no one can see Haven, no one can hear him.
All the doors are closed
All the windows are rolled all the way up
Haven is strapped in to a car seat that's set at an awful incline; car seats weren't meant to be strapped into this kind of seat. He can't even reach a window with a hand or foot to pound and get someone's attention.
