His parents came here when his truck was gone and started pounding on the door with rapidly alarming increase in volume and frenzy. They yelled at me through the door: Tess? We know you're in there. Would be a shame for us to have to call the authorities to tell them there's a child alone in there. We just want to see you.

Max came here about 1/2 hour after and has not once this entire time tried to talk to Haven about what happened or offer him any comfort. He has not given him any extra attention or warmth. He HAS ignored Haven while yelling at me over non-existent things, in my face and through a door. He DID turn on the TV and expect Haven to continue be satisfied with the only offer of "quality time" that he is willing to offer; a monumental effort as he would tell it.
