Past 3 weeks, made clothes out of fabric strips made from much larger sized men's and women's shirts

Favorite is a strapless wrap dress made with super stretchy and thin block floral (pale peaches, pinks, yellow & white with blackish detail) print fabric; the hem is much longer and pointed on one side than the other, which isn't pointy. Want to learn how to "do it right," how do i secure garment with reinforced lace holes and ribbon, hooks & eyelets, etc. instead of using holes stretched and torn through the fabric with scissors laced with choppy sections of the garment cut into a still-attached strip of fabric?
